MINIPUT 2012

MINIPUT 2008
The Big Donor Show (Holanda, 50’, 2007, xou d’impacte)

The Truth about Marika (Suècia, 60’, ficció-sèrie interactiva)

MINIPUT 2007
Bye bye Belgium (ficció-TV movie, 95’, Bèlgica, RTBF, 2006)

MINIPUT 2007
Let’s Make a baby (57’, Anglaterra, 2006, documental-sèrie, BBC)

MINIPUT 2003
Faking it (Documental de telerealitat, Gran Bretanya, Channel 4, 65’)
Situacions variades, humor i empatia

Human Remains (Jay Rosenblatt, PBS, 1998, Documental) -text en anglès-
Human Remains illustrates the banality of evil by creating intimate portraits of five infamous dictators. The film unveils the personal lives of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Joseph Stalin, Francisco Franco and Mao Tse Tung. We learn the private and mundane details of their everyday lives - their favourite foods, films, habits and sexual preferences. There is no mention of their public lives or of their place in history. Their personalities and psychological makeup are revealed through the details they share. The entire film is factual combining direct quotes and facts sifted from biographies. The use of foreign voice-over and British translators give the film a BBC type documentary style and adds to the verisimilitude of the film. A dark poetry pervades the entire film. Irony and even occasional humour are sprinkled throughout. The intentional omission of the horrors for which these men were responsible hovers over the film. Human Remains addresses this horror from a completely different and more obtuse angle, forcing the viewer to confront the nature of evil. /// BASED ON A TRUE STORY + THROUGH FICTIONAL SCRIPTED NARRATIONS

The Tourist Trap (1998, David Dugan, UK) -text en anglès-
The aim of the series was to find out if national stereotypes are true or false. To do this we took over a hotel in Turkey and rigged it with hidden cameras and microphones. Then we flew out, in consecutive weeks, 30 British, 30 German, 30 Japanese and 30 American tourists. The groups were selected so that they were matched for age, sex, occupation and income. Each week we set up the same incidents for the groups to deal with. These incidents were psychology experiments designed to test national stereotypes. So, for example, every Wednesday the bus driver taking the group back to the hotel appeared to be drunk. The British group got angry, while the German group was concerned that the driver should not lose his job because of their complaint. Other information was also gained: for example, the amount of beer each group drank was measured. The British group drank more than the other three groups put together. The series was a ratings success, but the reviews were mixed.

Brass Eye (Chris Morris, Caroline Lerry, 1997, Channel 4) -text en anglès-
Originally scheduled for November of last year, Chris Morris´ controversial series was delayed at short notice while compliance issues were resolved. The show´s particularly innovative style, on the borderline between current affairs and entertainment, posed a challenge because it raised certain issues for which the only regulatory guidelines apply to current affairs and factual programs. However, following a searching editorial review – at the highest levels within the channel – of both series and its making, Channel 4 is now satisfied there is sufficient public interest in the programs to merit transmission within existing guidelines. Channel 4´s Director of Programes John Willis comments: “We are delighted that we have overcome the problems that delayed our original our scheduling of the series; problems arising precisely because the series was breaking new ground in the disputes borderlands between comedy and current affairs.”

Come on down and out (1994, Stephen Garrett, Channel 4) -text en anglès-
Andrew O’Connor and Annabel Giles welcome you to COME ON DOWN AND OUT, television’s first game show for the homeless. A superb, fully equipped modern home is up for grabs this evening and three contestants will battle it out for the chance to move in.The contestants’ hard luck stories on tonight’s show include a young woman who lives in a hostel and has recently become pregnant for the second time, a young man who has lived on the streets for the last three years and a man in his 50s who lost his business and his home because of the recession.Recorded in front of live audience, COME ON DOWN AND OUT breaks new ground for game shows but like all great shows only one person can win, and so two people may face life back on the street if they get the answers to a preliminary round of questions wrong!Contestants will also be asked to BUILD THE BASH –a shelter from wood, plastic and cardboard—all against the clock! Our concealed cameras caught all of our contestant unawares for special “What happen next” round. Can contestants guess what each other did next? Finally, a quick-fire round of questions from the audience will decide the winner. So COME ON DOWN AND OUT and see if the final square reveals the star prize. COME ON DOWN AND OUT was developed by Channel 4 as the first game show for the homeless, presented within a week of programming on the subject. “COME ON DOWN AND OUT breaks new ground for game shows by trying to help those in greatest need. But, like all great game shows, only one person can win”.
